The Short Version

We store your earnings data — securely, and only for you. When you upload a CSV or log an entry, we save it to your account so your dashboard adds up correctly across every device and session. We never sell it, never share it, and you can delete it anytime — instantly.

What we store: Your email, password (hashed), which platforms you track, your display settings, and the earnings entries you add or import. That’s it.

What Information We Collect

Account Information:

  • Email address (for login and account recovery)
  • Password (encrypted and hashed)
  • Account creation date

Dashboard Settings:

  • Which platforms you’ve added to your dashboard
  • Your preferred currency display settings

Payment Information:

  • We use PayPal for all billing. We never see or store your credit card numbers or bank account details.
  • PayPal shares your PayPal email and transaction IDs with us to verify your subscription status.

Your Earnings Data:

  • The entries you log and the CSV exports you upload are stored in your account so we can calculate and display your totals (today / week / month / all-time) across sessions and devices.
  • This data is yours. We use it only to power your dashboard — we never sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers.
  • You control it: removing a platform permanently deletes every entry you logged for it, individual entries can be deleted anytime, and deleting your account removes all of it.

What We DON’T Collect

Your Platform Logins:

  • We never ask for your Prolific, CloudResearch, or any other platform login credentials.
  • You upload data from these platforms yourself. We don’t connect to them on your behalf.

Personal Identifying Information Beyond Email:

  • No names, addresses, phone numbers, social security numbers, or other PII.

How We Use Your Information

  • Email: To send login links, password resets, and important service announcements (outages, policy changes, etc.). We do not send marketing emails.
  • Dashboard Settings: To remember which platforms you’re tracking so we can show you the right interface when you log in.
  • Payment Information: To verify your subscription status and grant access to the dashboard.

Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures:

  • All connections use HTTPS/TLS encryption
  • Passwords are hashed using bcrypt
  • Database access is restricted and monitored
  • Your earnings data lives in a restricted-access database, served only over HTTPS/TLS, and is never exposed to third parties

Third-Party Services

PayPal: We use PayPal for payment processing. When you subscribe, PayPal collects and processes your payment information according to their privacy policy: paypal.com/privacy

Hosting Provider: Our site is hosted on shared hosting infrastructure. The hosting provider has access to server logs (IP addresses, page views, timestamps) but not to our database or your account information.

Your Rights

  • Access: You can view your account information by logging in.
  • Deletion: Remove a platform to instantly purge its data, or delete entries one at a time. To delete your entire account (email, password, settings, and all earnings data), email us at [email protected] — we’ll complete it within 7 days.
  • Data Portability: Want a copy of your data? Email us and we’ll provide an export of your entries and settings.

Children’s Privacy

GigWorkersGuide is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you via email.
